The role


As Brompton continues to grow, the need to centralise and control the indirect spend has become increasingly important, and as such Brompton is looking for someone to be responsible for the day-to-day indirect procurement activities. This role will require you to be a self-starter, good at analysing data, whilst ensuring that parts/services and contracts are delivered in line with the business and stake holders’ expectations.


Main duties


  • Responsible for managing the supply chain for indirect spend including (but not limited too), parts, services, energy, tooling & facilities
  • Managing all aspects of Brompton’s indirect spend for the entire business (circa £20m)
  • Targeting cost saving & consolidation opportunities in the indirect categories whilst maintaining quality and service.
  • Analysing the current spends and look for opportunities to save costs in line with the business KPI’s
  • Drive and develop a reliable, sustainable, and robust supply chain for alternatively sourced parts and services
  • Develop and implement contracts and long-term agreement for all newly sourced parts and services.
  • Managing bids and tenders for all contracting work
  • Overseeing the placing of purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring costs are maintained, and delivery times are met
  • Reducing the burden on BBL trading terms and import duties (where applicable) and taxes
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received, ensuring that any issues are fully investigated and resolved.
  • Develop and introduce KPI's throughout the indirect categories.
  • Negotiation and management of contracts ensuring supplier KPI's are maintained.
  • Attending internal meetings as and when necessary, with various departments.
  • Compliance with the processes and procedures in place within BBL.
  • Working on other projects as and when required
  • Any other tasks that may be deemed necessary.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Punctual, methodical, adaptable, and reliable.

Essential Skills:

  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Experience working with suppliers.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a “hands on” procurement role.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/APS systems
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Teams.

Desired skills

  • CIPS certified, desirable but not essential.
