The Role

The Production Quality Technician is responsible for IPQC (In Process Quality Control) and end of factory product audits.

The Production Quality Technician will be the first point of contact on the shopfloor for any issues related to the manufacturing processes to collect and formalise for analysis by the Customer Quality Engineering Team. The Production Quality Technician will assess any issues and inefficiencies and then provide detailed information onto the Quality Assurance Department. In the role, the main duties are:

Quality & Manufacturing Processes

  • Quality checks on assembled parts
  • Component measurement
  • Provide feedback to Quality Assurance on new products and new manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure that the work is carried out to the correct process, as defined by the Standard.
  • Process and product audits

Quality Engineering projects

  • Work alongside Production Engineering on Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Identify areas of inefficiency or poor quality to help with the prioritisation of work.
  • Be responsible for collecting data, timings, operator feedback where necessary.
  • Undertake 5S projects and be responsible for clean working environments and machinery.
  • Assist with solving quality issues, performing 8D analyses and other RCA (Root Cause Analysis) work; ensure that solutions are successfully implemented and kept to.

Job requirements

Skills and Requirements

  • Engineering-based experience and knowledge.
  • Proficient with interpreting technical drawings and technical assembly procedures
  • Proficient with manual measurement techniques, CMM experience would be an advantage but is not required
  • A hands-on practical approach, Appreciation of the importance in standardisation and process control.
  • Self-motivation and a constant desire to improve the status quo.
