The role

There is an additional role for Production Activity Controller available in Paint & Final Assembly, reporting to the Production planner, with priorities set in agreement with the Factory Manager. The Production Activity controller roles are primarily to support the Factory Managers in order to Schedule daily & Weekly production, as well as support with additional admin tasks and develop efficiency.

Within this new role, your aim will be to ensure the Factory is working to the best of its ability and importantly guarantee stock and transaction accuracy within the new ERP system.

As we have now introduced ERP, you will need to be able to quickly learn how to master our new system, by developing our tools and processes within the ERP environment through training. Therefore, problem solving, and continuous improvement shall be key feature of your role.

They must strive to be proactive and energetic in the work situation, seeking to get things done and at the same time deal with a variety of tasks.

Main duties

Priorities include:

  • Confirm weekly demand for each section and dividing this demand into a daily achievable plan.
  • Working alongside purchasing, stores, production planner and factory managers to ensure all departments are aligned to meet the weekly target.
  • Opening/closing job orders across the department.
  • One of the major demands is to ensure system accuracy within production across all aspects, including responsibility of ERP and within current systems.
  • Stock management – focusing on location of stock, ensuring we have correct stock levels within the correct locations.
  • Checking subassemblies and bill of materials within Infor.
  • Accountable for stock take results in department – becoming the go to person with stock issues and weekly/monthly/annual stock take.
  • Highlighting any issues with daily achieved which you may come across.
  • Work with team leaders to troubleshoot problems that occur during production, including staff shortages and machinery malfunctions.

Role development

  • Reviewing accuracy through transactions on ERP and reviewing locations for stock.
  • Monitoring quantity batches and Kanban levels, suggesting improvements across the factory.
  • Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand in conjunction with factory managers.
  • Allocation of jobs through the production lines based on Supply Constraints and Customer priorities.
  • Potentially working with subcontractors at times.
