Job description

Key Responsibilities: 


This super varied role will touch on all areas of the business, including:


  • Assist with new product development, and advising on IP enforcement strategy and IP portfolio management
  • Supporting our UK and international sales teams on a myriad of commercial contracts, including dealer, distribution, website, franchise and bike hire agreements
  • Supporting our logistics and operations teams with warehouse and logistics contracts, and our procurement team with supply contracts
  • UK and international real estate matters
  • Advising on marketing and events, such as the Brompton World Championships and partnership agreements with other brands.
  • Horizon scanning and supporting the business with changes in law
  • Advising on data privacy
  • Being more than just lawyer - help structure and provide advice on new strategic initiatives launched by the company from time to time
  • Create and improve legal processes, including developing contract templates, standard forms and legal issue checklists
  • Prepare and conduct legal education and training for different teams across the business.
  • Instructing external counsel where necessary and inputting into the management of the legal budget
  • Day to day exposure to Directors and C-suite

Job requirements

Who you are:


  • A self-starter with excellent technical skills
  • Ability to roll your sleeves up and take ownership of all tasks that cross your desk, from the mundane to the strategic
  • Enjoys working in a busy team and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent prioritisation skills
  • Positive attitude


Desired Experience:


  • 3-5 years PQE
  • Significant commercial contracts and IP experience
  • Trained in a top tier firm, and ideally also having worked in house in a retail or manufacturing business

  • Flexible working
  • 9 Day Fortnight – This is a flexible working pattern which individuals can opt in for where an employee works their contractual hours across 9 days instead of 10 days. (i.e. 80 hours across 9 days instead of 10 days). This means the individual would work an additional hour across Monday to Thursday (across the 2 week period) to gain their Friday off.
