Brompton is a highly respected British manufacturer of bespoke folding bikes, each bike being hand made in the London factory. The role

The Direct-to-Consumer channel, covering eCommerce and our retail stores, is a key part of the company’s ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years. In order to achieve this, we need to enhance our processes, systems, data and talent to create a scale-able business which is integrated into an omnichannel experience.

This is a new and exciting role, partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure accuracy of the channel’s reporting. The Finance team has invested in several new technologies over the last 12 months to support the growing number of systems, allowing us to manage and reconcile the data they produce. This role will be a key user of Blackline which is the system we use to automate transaction matching between systems and complete balance sheet reconciliations. We have several other exciting projects being worked on which will improve the way we work and help us build a best-in-class Finance function.

How you’ll contribute:

    • Month-end close support, helping to provide accurate and complete information in a timely manner to stakeholders across the business.
    • Ownership of several key balance sheet reconciliations, leveraging technology to automate as much of these as possible.
    • Building strong, collaborative relationships across key stakeholders, particularly our operations and data teams.
    • Identify opportunities for business improvement, working with the Ecom Finance Manager to design and implement new processes.
    • Take ownership of our monthly external reporting requirements.

Job requirements

You should apply if you:

    • AAT/ACCA/ACA/CIMA (part) qualified or qualified by experience.
    • Have a minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Have good SQL skills, or are willing to learn (training can be provided to the right person)
    • Have a good understanding of month end reporting procedures.
    • Desired - previous experience of ecommerce/retail.
    • Get a kick out of identifying problems and seeing them through to resolution
    • Are a good communicator with experience of managing multiple stakeholders
    • Are driven with strong attention to detail and integrity
    • Are passionate about cycling!
