The role

We are seeking a corporate GC with not only existing capabilities, but also the potential to excel in this role as we expand. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, driven, and thrive on responsibility, as well as relish the chance to be part of a team that is changing the way people travel in cities.
As our new In-House General Counsel, you will be the go-to person for all legal matters and will work alongside a diverse and dynamic team. The remit of this role is both challenging and broad and will involve developing and negotiating a wide variety of agreements for our business on a global scale.
Job requirements
Here is a snapshot of what you’ll be responsible for:
- Providing proactive, high quality, business-focused legal advice and solutions across a broad remit to the Group, including international subsidiary companies.
- Interpreting legal documentation and advising management on the most appropriate course of action in a timely manner.
- Assisting Brompton’s Group’s business Intellectual Property contentious and non-contentious issues, including brand protection, design rights, trademark licensing, trademark portfolio, patents and general IP portfolio, IP consents and waivers etc
- Chairing the Compliance Leadership Committee
- Working with the sustainability team to advise on sustainability matters and regulatory developments.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience, with some in-house experience
- Exposure to US and China markets will be a big advantage
- Solid legal academic background and robust legal training

- Demonstrate sound business sense and commercial knowledge
- Able to propose innovative commercial deal structures to management for consideration
- Ability to demonstrate clear and concise written and oral legal advice
- Ability to demonstrate the application of robust legal advice in a practical manner
- Able to cope with pressurised situations and tight timeframes whilst maintaining a professional approach
