The role

Part of this expansion and growth will be driven by an increase in automation and development of machinery and equipment, as such a skilled maintenance technician with an electro-mechanical bias is required to support that ambition. The role will be heavily involved in protecting production capacity through a combination of reactive, planned and preventative maintenance activities. As such experience of a wide variety of equipment types and systems coupled with a sound diagnostic fault-finding capability are essential to delivering the required impact. Working with the Facilities Manager, Manufacturing Engineers and maintenance team, you will define and develop safety, quality and reliability protocols, as well liaise with 3rd party specialists as and when required, to ensure services are provided.

As a maintenance and equipment specialist you will also be involved in developing plans and designs for new production machinery and systems, to assure reliability and servicing ease.


Main duties

  • Provide planned and unplanned maintenance support to production teams to improve MTBF
  • Investigate, diagnose and resolve root cause failures of Machinery and Equipment.
  • Maintain maintenance records
  • Support development of repair and service procedures for equipment.
  • Identify and develop critical spares stocks to improve MTTR
  • Support equipment design, Installation, commissioning, handover and decommissioning.
  • Compliance with health and safety standards
  • Issue Hot work permits/ LOTO controls
  • Monitor Contractor activity
  • Adhere to OEM specs

Additional duties:

  • Carry out site facilities tasks in support of the wider team’s responsibilities
  • Support site development plans to provide excellent working environment for all staff.
  • Engage in S&OP process, supporting activities to deliver planned and targeted volumes and mix requirements.
  • Support change and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support accident investigations, near misses and hazards to provide a safe working environment for our team and visitors

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • · Qualified to IEEE 17th/18th Edition electrical regulations
  • · Mech Engineering Btech/HNC
  • · Time served apprentice (Preferred)
  • · Electro - Pneumatic, hydraulic systems experience
  • · PLC/SCADA logic conversant
  • · Able to interpret engineering drawings and system schematics
  • · Highly computer literate, MS365 programs
  • · Engaging approach to team work
  • · Interpretation of electrical diagrams
  • · Highly computer literate, MS365 programs
