DTC Operations Specialist

Job description

About the Company:

Brompton’s vision is to transform how people live and get around in cities and be the leading urban bike brand in key cities across North America. The Brompton bike is Made for Cities and Made for You. Our bike was conceived as a product which would increase people’s sense of independence and freedom, and this concept is still at the heart of everything we do. The Brompton is widely acknowledged as the finest bike of its type: cleverly designed, and beautifully made to be versatile, easy to use and durable. This excellence, combined with the resurgence in cycling for transport and leisure, means we are enjoying strong company growth, with North America being a priority market as part of our expansion. To change urban living, we need passionate, innovative, and talented people that want to challenge the status quo and make an impact.

The Role

The DTC Operations Specialist will work cross-functionally with other teams to develop and execute key merchandising initiatives, strategies, and business priorities.

This role will be part of a small team that looks after our ecommerce/retail fulfillment business in North America. You will have key responsibility for the coordination of operational processes on a day-to-day basis, liaising with the warehouse and logistics teams in the UK, our logistics partner in the US, and Brompton US staff to ensure effective service to our consumers and vendor accounts throughout the Americas. As such you will be an effective communicator, with excellent IT and data analysis skills. You will not be fazed by Excel spreadsheets, pivot tables, and prior experience in an omnichannel logistics role would be a big benefit. At Brompton’s New York Office you are the lynch-pin, pooling orders, monitoring inventory at our warehouse, communicating with other staff and customers and getting the right information to the right people at the right time.

The role is dynamic and rewarding; beyond the key responsibilities outlined below, it’s important to remember that this is a small outfit with an exceptional product at its heart. At Brompton, there will be plenty of intriguing opportunities for growth and development, and we encourage it. When there aren’t orders to chase, emails to answer and spreadsheets to update there are always exciting ways to help develop Brompton in the Americas, developing and improving internal processes, or helping the other members of the team with their projects. You will be involved to some extent with many areas of the New York-based business, and whilst others will be experts in selling or marketing our products, you will become experts in our business processes. If this sounds like you, please apply now with your resume and a covering letter introducing yourself.
