The role

The role of the Parts & Accessories (P&A) Demand Planner requires a highly meticulous, commercially rounded and organised planner, to take immediate ownership of the sales planning activities.

Reporting directly to the Supply and Demand Planning Manager, this role carries a significant degree of authority, autonomy, and organisation, as you become responsible for the planning of our sales. Working closely with the Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Product teams, you shall develop statistical forecasts and challenge them with a collaborative approach, to ensure forecast accuracy and balance market demand with supply, capacity and organisational budgeted targets.

Accordingly, your work requires tight, cross-functional collaboration with local and remote Sales teams across our different routes to market (Brompton Junction stores, Ecommerce, retailers and distributors) as well as our internal supply and production planning teams. Being capable of building and maintaining effective and trusting relationships is therefore paramount in this pivotal position.

Brompton operates a lean manufacturing policy and Part & Accessories are assembled to order. There is vast reliance upon suppliers to deliver parts on time. You must work closely with the Supply & Production Planners to provide reliable forecasting for the different Product families and their relevant BoMs (Bill of Materials).

You will need to be able to evolve with our new systems, by integrating current tools and processes within the ERP environment. Therefore, problem-solving, and continuous improvement shall be a key features of your role.

Main duties

Forecasting & Demand Planning

  • Developing & maintaining statistical forecasts for the current range of parts and accessories
  • Support sales & warranty managers in preparing their collaborative forecasts.
  • Challenging statistical forecast with a collaborative approach for key accessories, always looking for opportunities to grow specific product families.
  • Secure monthly statistical and collaborative review of the forecast.
  • Update forecast and allocation weekly across our systems (CRM / ERP).
  • Developing and improving forecast accuracy by product and product family.
  • Assessing best safety stock strategy at warehouses, based on demand, Supply Lead-time and forecast accuracy. Opportunity to experiment forecasting with the latest A.I. technology.
  • Working with Supply Planners & Purchase team to secure a consistent supply of items to support P&A stock build, demand and replenishment.
  • Participating in sales meetings, gathering feedback regarding global demand and feeding it through the operation department.

Product Lifecycle Management

  • Ensuring new products forecast are introduced with all relevant information and gathering collaborative forecasts when best suited.
  • Challenging product launch strategies to be in line with demand, supply and capacity planning.
  • Coordinating product phase-out with stakeholders to support appropriate warranty stock and reduce risk of distressed and obsolete stock, while limiting the requirement for promotional activities.
  • Participating and supporting the improvement of the P&A committee and PLM processes.

Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)

  • Actively participating in S&OP process steps 1 to 3 (Demand creation, Demand review, Inventory review and Supply review) to ensure supply is in line with demand.
  • Developing S&OP Report for Parts and Accessories to support long term growth and increase Operational and tactical visibility against budgeted volumes, turnover & profits.
  • Developing and defining profit-generating business cases to support launch and fulfilment of Parts and Accessories.
  • Securing successful completion of P&A related S&OP actions.


  • Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives, etc.) and report and manage appropriate KPIs.
  • Inform Demand Planner and Sales Team about any delay that requires important re-planning.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of systems and processes.
  • Any other jobs that may be deemed necessary by the Planning managers.

  • Degree in Supply Chain or business with forecasting track
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Excel and analytical skills
  • 3 years working experience in forecasting and S&OP activities
  • Experience working with ERP (Ideally Infor CSI)
  • Fluent English communication skills - both verbal and written, with a confident and professional manner
  • Knowledge of supply chain models, forecasting, S&OP, capacity planning.
  • Power BI experience is a plus, though not required
  • Experience leading process change through continuous improvement is a plus
