The role

Reporting to the DACH Region Sales Manager with a dotted line into the International Marketing Manager, this role is required to reflect our increased international presence and responsibility as we take on direct distribution in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. As high priority territories for Brompton, this role will be part of a newly established Sales and Marketing team based in Germany.

To meet our growth ambitions, we need to build awareness, engagement and trial amongst a broader range of prospective customers, while localising the global marketing strategy to the DACH region. This role will take ownership for developing and executing marketing plans in Germany, Austria and Switzerland working with in-territory sales managers and the global marketing team, based in London.

Initially, the role will be based at home with some travel to the Headquarters in London and within the region as the role requires. In time, we would expect the role to transition to office working within the Rhine/Main region. The role requires a motivated, experienced and creative marketing professional to localize and execute our marketing plans for the DACH region.


Measures of success


  • Creation and execution of regional marketing calendar, informed by market insights for your region
  • Achievement of marketing objectives within region (including brand awareness, web traffic, social media engagement and dealer support)
  • On time delivery of all regional marketing campaign elements
  • Support delivery of regional sales budgets


Key Responsibilities


DACH Marketing Plan


  • In conjunction with DACH Manager and International Marketing Manager, develop and execute regional marketing calendar through localisation of global campaigns and the creation of local marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and adapt campaign messaging for local audiences through local knowledge and continued development of market insights
  • Identify and execute marketing campaigns across appropriate marketing channels to reach target audience in your region (including digital, outdoor, print, PR, trade, events, among other channels)
  • Identify appropriate content for content-marketing initiatives; collaborate with in-house teams to brief in content requests for region
  • Where relevant, work closely with Global Events team to plan and coordinate events in your region
  • Initially manage the social media channels for DACH region with close support and consultation with Global Social Media Executive. Within first 6 months, recruit and oversee freelancers to execute local social media marketing plan, in line with global social media marketing plan.
  • Liaise with third parties as required, such as PR and Media agencies, to execute your regional marketing plans.


Local Trade and Retail Marketing:

  • Work with Retail Marketing team to inform visual merchandising plan, including POS support materials, graphics and guidelines for your region
  • Brief in requirements for retail and trade marketing activities (including translation, POS, sales literature, and campaign elements) to Trade Marketing Team
  • Implement POS and campaigns to market once assets received from Retail Marketing Team
  • Support in territory Sales Manager with key accounts and initiate and create strategies to drive volume through them
  • Support the implementation of the Dealer Accreditation programme
  • Increase visibility and awareness of Brompton in dealer network across your region



Additional duties

  • Budget Management: responsible for regional marketing budget for Germany, Austria and Switzerland
  • Reporting: responsible for weekly and monthly reporting on regional marketing activities
  • Where necessary, this role will require travel across the region to support marketing activities, events and gather local insights



Experience

  • Strong marketing experience, with at least 4 years’ demonstrated ability of managing multi-mix marketing plans
  • Marketing or Business degree, or equivalent level of qualification
  • Fluent in German and English
  • Proven experience building and managing significant marketing plans, projects and budgets
  • Experience working for a global, multi-region brand or retailer
  • Desired experience working within cycling or sports industry
