Bicycle Apprentice Technician / Mechanic


This is a very exciting opportunity for someone wanting to get into the cycle industry, the candidate must have a passion for bicycles and have a good basic understanding of bicycle mechanics and feel comfortable in a workshop environment. This is a varied role and ideal for an enthusiastic individual wanting to work in a team with current and new products and enjoys problem solving. The candidate will work within a large team and be continually learning new techniques, processes and thus have a keen aptitude for improving his/her skillset.

Job description:

The basis of the job will revolve around bicycle mechanics, which would include repairs, wheel building, assembling new, test and prototype bicycles thus this role needs someone with a good eye for detail and good communication skills. Maintaining a professional environment within the workshop is important part of this role.

In addition, the candidate will have the opportunity to learn skills beyond bicycle mechanics as they develop within the role, with the right aptitude the role will include some fabrication work with training coming from working alongside experienced engineers, designers, and fabricators.

Duties and responsibilities:

Build bicycles for testing, marketing and design development work.

Repair and PDI test bicycles

Wheel building and repairs

Workshop housekeeping

Spare part stock keeping

Test riding bicycles when/as required.

Assist with fabrication work.

Work to high standards and follow health and safety regulations, including implementing them.
